Where's Phyllis
/
Casting subtle and dreamy indie folk/rock sounds, Where’s Phyllis uses the electric ukulele, layered vocals, and simple beats to work through emotions of monumental proportions.
With musical and lyrical influences across the spectrum, from Mitski to Etta James, she invites you in with cyclical plucked patterns and keeps you there with a lyrical dribble of complied consciousness, and at times, maybe even a few rhymes.
Where’s Phyllis, like so many of us, is still very much a work in progress, endlessly attempting to navigate a world that seems to still misunderstand the necessity of artistic expression and connection. She hopes that her music can serve as an example and gentle reminder that there is no one (right) way to write a song, album, or career.
