VISITOR STATEMENT

Tamika J. is a Haitian-American artist—an unstoppable musical force born in the vibrant city of Miami, FL, and deeply rooted in her proud Haitian heritage.

From a young age, it was clear Tamika was destined for greatness. She began writing and performing her own music early on, drawing inspiration from legends like Jill Scott, Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Sade, Lauryn Hill, and more. Her soulful voice and storytelling quickly became her signature.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science with a minor in American Sign Language Interpreting from the University of South Florida. While living in Tampa, she honed her craft by performing at local shows and lending her powerhouse vocals to both regional and nationally recognized artists.

Now based in Los Angeles, Tamika J. captivates audiences with genre-blending live performances that infuse R&B, Reggae, Blues, Rock, and World Music into unforgettable experiences. Her single “Let Me Be Your Journey” was featured on Afropunk.com—an outlet known for spotlighting emerging Black talent—and her artistry has been highlighted by platforms like VoyageLA.

She has graced stages at venues including Hotel Café, House of Blues, Sofar Sounds LA, Haitian Spotlight LA, Breaking Sound, and San Diego’s Midday Soirée, among others. She also appeared on NBC’s The Voice (Seasons 17 & 18), where icons like John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Nick Jonas praised her undeniable talent.

Beyond the stage, Tamika J. is a visionary entrepreneur. She founded LA Living Room Sessions, a community-centered event series that uplifts independent “unicorn” artists through performance, networking, and creative connection. She’s also the founder of Taomi Tea N Treats, a tea brand inspired by her Haitian roots and passion for healing. With a mission to elevate the tea experience one cup at a time, Taomi Tea promotes tea as a gateway to holistic healing for the mind, body, and soul. Her tea brand was recently featured on NBC LA, where she shared insights about her Haitian culture and the beautiful benefits of drinking tea.

Her latest singles, “Magic Dust” and “Recipes,” are available on all music platforms—but they offer more than just music. Magic Dust is also a tea blend, while Recipes promotes her Taomi Tea Recipe Book, merging sound, flavor, and story into one sensory journey. Tamika continues to creatively blend music and tea in her journey—and there’s so much more on the way. Stay tuned!

Tamika J.’s mission is to craft music and performances rooted in authenticity and purpose, creating space for her audience to deeply connect and feel. Her vision is to continue building safe, soul-stirring experiences through music—where healing begins, hope is restored, and people can fall in love with life again.

Magic Dust:

It would mean a lot if you purchased the track. It would help with the numbers.

Best,

Tamika
